Roy Blunt paid a visit late Wednesday afternoon to Moberly's historic 4th Street Theatre where he engaged with 24 invited community leaders about subjects of their interest as part of the senator's daylong tour that included stops at Perry, Hannibal, Clarence, and Macon. During this June 30 arrangement made by the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce, Blunt also spoke such topics of the COVID-19 vaccine, bringing more people back to work, infrastructure, high-speed broadband internet and the importance of keeping a free trade agreement with Taiwan. As a member of the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, Senator Blunt said the country's transportation infrastructure is past due to receive a major economic boost of support from the federal government. He noted that the United States' reliance on its highways, railways, and waterways will continue to increase as the domestic economy continues to recover and expand.
