The provost and the acting chancellor of the University of Arkansas sat down with students, staff and alumni Tuesday to discuss the decision surrounding the Sen. William Fulbright statue on campus.
Charles Robinson, UA provost, said the university supports students' rights to free speech.
"The issue of monuments and statues and names is not an Arkansas issue alone. It's a national issue," Robinson said. "We support you and your freedom of expression, particularly when you respect the rights of others to have that freedom."
Tyrah Jackson with the UA Black Student Caucus said Tuesday's town hall also brought ideas to the table for ways the university can support minority students and organizations on campus.
