UMass Dartmouth nursing students to vaccinate at Council on Aging The Standard-Times DARTMOUTH — On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., UMass Dartmouth nursing students will administer vaccines to senior citizens at the Dartmouth Council on Aging, 628 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth. To date, 40-50 nursing students have participated in vaccination clinics, according to a press release from UMass Dartmouth. "And the special connection between these young students and the older population they vaccinate has created special moments," university officials wrote. "The students have come to understand the resilience and hardiness of older adults which sheds new light on how they view their profession and members of their community. The Nursing students gain valuable clinical experience and are part of the cheers, smiles, and tears by those who finish receiving their vaccines."
