(Joe Ahlquist / jahlquist@postbulletin.com) Students at the University of Minnesota, including the University of Minnesota Rochester, will return to on-campus learning this fall, the system announced today. The university system, including the campuses in Crookston, Duluth, Rochester and Morris, have been operating in hybrid mode this year, including both online and in-person classes. But the outlook for suppressing the pandemic that forced distancing learning is increasingly looking more optimistic. U of M President Joan Gabel said the decision to re-open campuses is based on the projections of the number of Minnesotans who will be vaccinated and the advice of public health officials.
