UNCW Partners with College Advising Corps to Support Underrepresented Students in Rural NC Communities Tuesday, June 01, 2021 The University of North Carolina Wilmington is partnering with College Advising Corps to increase educational opportunities for underrepresented students by placing college advisers in rural high schools in North Carolina. Recent UNCW alumni will serve as full-time advisers to help students navigate the process of college admission, financial aid and matriculation. By engaging recent college graduates as advisers, students will have a current perspective of the college experience. Advisers will be placed in Beaufort, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Jones and Pasquotank counties beginning the 2021-22 academic year.
