EUGENE, Ore. – PeaceHealth will soon launch a massive overhaul of their University District Hospital.
The 15-month project is expected to begin in April 2021 and involves removing four vacant buildings including the former Johnson Unit and the remaining wing of the former Sacred Heart General Hospital.
As part of the modernization project, the main hospital lobby will be repositioned to accommodate the construction work and then “revitalized.”
“PeaceHealth has been planning to remove these outdated, unused buildings and to make the hospital lobby a more inviting, active space,” said chief operating officer Todd Salnas, chief operating officer. “This work in Eugene is part of the evolution of PeaceHealth’s long-range plan to guide investment in our facilities throughout our networks in Alaska, Washington and Oregon.”
