View Comments Thousands of students participated in a solidarity walkout Monday, calling on the University of Vermont to better address sexual misconduct. The school's athletic director, who was specifically called out in the list of demands, responded Friday. "Sexual misconduct in any form is unacceptable and is not tolerated by the UVM Athletic Department," Director of Athletics Jeff Schulman said in the statement. "At no time is athletic status, gender, or sport a factor in determining responsibility or an appropriate sanction." Schulman noted the department has historically and will continue treating allegations "with the utmost of seriousness" and guarantee cases are referred to the school's Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity.
