UPDATE, 3:45 p.m.: A lake effect snow warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. in Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and southern Erie counties.
The National Weather Service says additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected in the most persistent lake snows.
The winter weather advisory for Monroe County has been extended until midnight tonight.
