Updated at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday Technicians with Black Hills Energy restored gas service for about 2,000 customers in Aspen Tuesday, which is roughly 65% of all homes and businesses that were left without heat following widespread outages that began Sunday night. The company said it expects nearly all customers to have gas restored by late Wednesday afternoon.
Black Hills Energy said it planned to focus on relighting residential properties until 11 p.m., when it would switch to commercial and government buildings. “Our goal is to restore natural gas service to our customers as quickly and safely as possible despite the many conditions making this a difficult process,” said Vance Crocker, vice president of operations for Black Hills Energy Colorado.
