Updates as protesters gather in Birmingham city centre amid Israeli–Palestinian clashes in Jerusalem
The demo comes after Palestinians were hurt by Israeli forces at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Protesters gather in Birmingham city centre
A peaceful protest urging the UK government to speak out after hundreds of Palestinian protesters were injured in clashes with Israeli police forces is taking place in Birmingham city centre this evening.
The protesters, meeting at 6pm outside Waterstones, near Primark, are standing in solidarity with Palestinians who were hurt by Israeli forces at the Al-Aqsa Mosque over the weekend.
Israeli police used tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse Palestinians who gathered there.
