Sometimes, the problems Eugene Taylor faces at work seem to much to keep up with. "There are days when you wake up and come into work and wonder - why did I do this?" said the director of the Edgecombe County Animal Shelter. Last year, almost 700 dogs and 500 cats came through the shelter's doors. They also received 1,500 service calls. The shelter only has room for 20 dogs and 12 cats.
