(WFIE) - On Friday night, the University of Southern Indiana women’s soccer team will take the pitch to defend the program’s GLVC title from 2019 against the University of Indianapolis. The Screaming Eagles (11-3-1) punched their ticket to St. Charles, Missouri after an aggressive offensive outing against Rockhurst in the quarterfinals. USI defeated the Hawks, 3-1, to advance to the semifinals. ”We just knew going into it that we could do it, we had all the energy, the fanbase was awesome, so we were very energized and ready to go,” USI senior defender Madelyne Juenger said. “We’ve always had great team chemistry, we bound on and off the field so that’s definitely been huge for us. It’s been a tough year, we’ve overcame a lot of stuff this year, so just staying connected has really helped.”
