The Summit County Sheriff's office announced Sunday that Kurt Damschroder, 57, died after being caught in the avalanche outside resort boundaries near Park City Mountain Canyons Village. Advertisement The avalanche was triggered when Damschroder and a friend were skiing in the area known as Square Top on Saturday. "The friend immediately called for help, located the skier with the help of an avalanche beacon and attempted lifesaving efforts for more than an hour," the sheriff's office said.
