(KUTV) — Three fires in four days prompted a Utah state park to offer some common-sense tips on how to prevent visitors from turning summer recreation into a literal dumpster fire — that could also turn into wildfires. Utah is in the midst of a heat wave, breaking records from north to south with single-day temperatures and cumulative heat totals. Heat combined with crushing drought creates extra fire danger. At Bear Lake State Park, three individual fires highlighted the danger well enough for the state park to issue tips. No injuries were reported by the park in any of the three incidents.
