Peascod Street Ruling Conservative councillors have been accused of 'putting the nail in the coffin' of Windsor and Maidenhead's struggling businesses. The angry accusation came from Cllr Jon Davey - who represents Clewer and Dedworth West for the West Windsor Residents Association on the Royal Borough. At last night's Royal Borough council meeting he failed to persuade the ruling Conservative administration to allow free parking between 9am and noon Mondays and Tuesdays till the end of the year, to help traders struggling to survive the pandemic. He said: "Their only sin is to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. You will be the ones putting the nail in the coffin of local businesses this Christmas."
