Vale, DMC Mining face charges after worker critically injured in 2019

Critical injuries to a worker at the Copper Cliff South Mine in 2019 have resulted in charges for Vale Canada Limited, DMC Mining Services Ltd. and two individuals, a spokesperson from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development has confirmed.
Charges were laid under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and sworn on Jan. 29 of this year.

In an email, Kalem McSween of the MLTSD communications branch said the ministry was notified on Aug. 7, 2019 of an injury that occurred at the Copper Cliff South Mine to a worker employed by DMC Mining Services. It was reported that a worker was critically injured after being struck by loose rock.
