The well known Metropole Theatre in Abertillery will now be run by the Awen Cultural Trust, a group that aims to secure the future of the facility for arts and culture in the area. Originally named the Metropole Theatre and Dance Hall, the building has played a significant role in the history of Abertillery since its construction in 1892, and has always been seen as a central hub within the community.
