Video: Dave Schneider discusses behavioral health integration in Michigan Share this:
Schneider talked about the many attempts to integrate physical and behavioral health, the disruption of COVID and the two new plans being discussed in the legislature. “In 2017 the legislature put language in the budget that required the Michigan Department of health and human services to implement up to three pilots to test the integration of physical and behavioral health. Then we set about trying to make this work. There were some limitations since we couldn’t change any statute or make any changes that couldn’t be undone and there are several barriers to do this without statute change. We were working on developing that… and along came COVID-19.”
