9 May 2021 BACK ON: The Hobson family at Eggleston Carnival in 2018 CARNIVALS in Mickleton and Eggleston are to go ahead this year after being abandoned last year because of coronavirus. Organisers say the events will take place a month later than normal, in anticipation of restrictions being eased further. Mickleton Carnival, which would normally take place on the first Saturday of June, is now set for Saturday, July 3, and will be a slightly different format with the inclusion of some new events. David Hutchinson, of Mickleton Village Hall, said: “We have Barnard Castle Brass Band which is new to us and we will have a big marquee on the field. There will be the usual magician and Punch and Judy, and teas will be in the hall.
