2021-04-20T16:27:00+01:00 Montgomery’s three-year position will see her write a series of new orchestral and chamber works US violinist and composer Jessie Montgomery has been appointed Mead composer in residence with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO). She will take up the three-year post on 1 July. As composer in residence, Montgomery will write three new works for the CSO and curate MusicNOW, the orchestra’s annual contemporary music series. Born in New York, Montgomery studied at Juilliard and New York University, and is a former winner of the Sphinx Medal of Excellence and the ASCAP Foundation’s Leonard Bernstein Award.
