Thursday, 11 March 2021 Slovakia's Petra Vlhová and the United States' Mikaela Shiffrin are set for an International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup slalom double-header following a controversial starting issue for the American last time out in Jasna. With events set to take place tomorrow and Saturday (March 13) in Åre in Sweden, the slalom title could be decided, with two of the three races left this season set for this weekend. Vlhová holds a 45-point lead over Shiffrin in the slalom, while Austria's Katharina Liensberger sits just 70 behind. There will be added attention on this weekend following the controversy at the Slovakian resort, where Shiffrin was left waiting for a gate to be fixed for two-and-a-half minutes, just after Vlhová took the lead in the giant slalom.
