The word is a fitting part of the moniker of Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., a brewery which, when faced with the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, applied their own might to persevere and to come out on top. The brewery grew its sales nearly 160% last year by staying local and not expanding to other states like their competitors. “The pandemic was not only a challenge for Mighty Squirrel but for any brewery, not only in Waltham, but in the country and the whole world,” said Naveen Pawar, co-founder. “’We were really scared...we’re like: what's going to happen?’ But luckily for us, the local people of Waltham and the whole state have been very kind to us.
