Water authority seeks $5 million for To'hajiilee pipeline :

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority has applied for nearly $5 million from the state Water Project Fund to help construct a pipeline to bring clean water to the Navajo community of To’hajiilee.
One sometimes-working well serves the community of 2,000 people that sits 30 miles west of Albuquerque. But residents often drive for miles to haul water instead of using the rust-colored well water.

Mark Sanchez, executive director of the water authority, said To’hajiilee officials had requested that the agency submit the application for $4,965,000.
