BY JONATHAN SHUGARTS REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN 4114 WATERBURY – A 38-year-old Waterbury man was charged by federal authorities in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Massachusetts man whose body was found burning in an abandoned car in Hartford in December. Calvin “Cutty” Roberson was charged with kidnapping resulting in death, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and causing the death of a person through the use of a firearm. Police and firefighters found the body of Francisco Roman Jr., 28, of Chicopee, Mass., inside a burning Acura that was found on Shultas Place in Hartford on Dec. 26. He had been shot to death, according to federal authorities.
