French officials report this morning at least eight dead and 23 people hurt on french caribbean island territories. Thats in addition to the death of a child reported on barbuda. Hurricane irma is about 140 miles west of san juan. Its moving toward more caribbean islands today. It is expected to pass the north of the Dominican Republic and the turks and caicos tonight. It made its first landfall on barbuda where officials report every building was damaged and 1,400 people are homeless. And in puerto rico, people are dealing with flooding and mass ifz Power Outages after the hurricane passed very close to the northern coast last night. About a Million People are in the dark there. Puerto rico is under a state of emergency. Florida is bracing for a runin with Hurricane Irma perhaps by sometime late this weekend. Evacuations are underway in southern florida and thats leading to crowded roads. Tourists started leaving the keys yesterday. Also a mandatory evacuation begins near miami beach. The hospital in miami has started evacuating its patients. And we have team kovrng of Hurricane Irma. Crystal has the latest on the storms proekts jed path. But first lets get to matt live at the Philadelphia International airport. Some people are rushing here to our area to get out of the storms path. Tell us more about that. Reporter well, you heard art those evacuations there and youve seen people trying to get back in time before that storm hits florida and of course weve already seen that storm hit in the caribbean islands there, so people have been cutting their vacations shortcoming back up to philadelphia. This is a hurricane of historic proportions and it is deadly so travellers really are not taking any chances. We have seen more folks come k in from the caribbean islands and some have family up here and others came looking for a place to stay, not really knowing what kind of damage theyre going to be going back to in these coming days, but for now the flights continue to make their way to and from florida and folks from our area tell us they saw the urgency to leave. Last night they said, you need to get out and take all what you can and board up your house and pray. And the vacation place said get out now. There was panic in their voices. They were truly scared. Travelers have also been taking advantage for any offers to waive exchange fees. So we are looking at still very massive system and watch the track projection here thursday through friday. Still a very strong hurricane. Thursday to the north, friday to the north of parts of cuba and south of some of the bahamas youll see. The problem is thats going to affect both land masses with the high waves, some of the surge as well as the heavy rain bands and strong wind speeds that move through. Now the updated track projection from saturday through sunday. Its been pulling more and more to the east meaning it will make that turn a little earlier and potentially brush against much of the coastline of florida but from saturday night through sunday evening, it looks like it will start to ride up the florida coastline. The new projection will start to interact with georgia or south carolina. And we have a team of reporters in florida right now. Well be following the latest go developments as the storm nears. And new this morning two people died when three cars collided in chester county. This is video of the scene. It happened on route 10 and police shut down the road for three hours while they investigated this accident. The cause of the crash still has not been released. And the search is on for the men who tricked their way into a womans home and died her up. Police found and untied that woman after neighbors called 911. They say they heard screaming coming from the womans home. Reports indicated the men had a box and knocked on the door like they were delivery men. I asked her if she was okay and she said no. Somebody broke in my house and tied me up. The woman went to the hospital to get checked out and she has been released.
