Good look at the fire damage. Because the fire is still burning, they cant get inside to see what caused it. 151 people were evacuated from that building. The entire building is on fire. Reporter you can hear the urgency as the first officers arrived. We now have the police asking for the mass casualties. We saw this black smoke. I took off running down the h l hallway. I started getting my residents out. Reporter she said at first she heard a loud bang and then the smoke. She and other workers rushed to get elderly residents outside. I went banging on doors going to get my residents up. It is a fire. It is for real. It is not fake. Make sure they had shoes on and coats on and start taking them out. Reporter once she was out, she saw how bad it really was. The roof was on fire. Reporter on the ground, First Responders call for help almost shocked how fast the building was burning. Firefighters from not just county over but other counties helped those to get into buses and in the coat. Some we had to bring in beds and wheelchairs, because they couldnt transfer that quickly. Once daylight broke, the bulk of the fire was out. Smoke filled the air. What is left of the facility smoldered the rest of the day making it unsafe for invest gay fors to get inside and see whats left. Reporter to give you an idea, we are told one firefighter felt his helmet begin to melt. He was going in there trying to see if there were any residents left. Believe me, i went through hell and more. Now, those people are struggling to come to terms with how to rebuild less than a week before thanksgiving. Steven fisher is live outside Chester County hospital where many of those residents were taken. I know you spoke with one woman who was able to get out but with very few of her possessions. Reporter that woman was in her 90s. She requires a wheelchair. She told me this was a night she wont soon forget. I will never forget it. It was cold. It was cold. Reporter it forced residents from barclay friends Senior Living facilities out into the cold night. Their warmth and shelter was gone. What was there, thick smoke and the sound of ambulances coming and going for hours. I went through hell and more. Reporter she lives at barclay friends and will turn 94 in two weeks. She says last night was full of panic and confusion and the cold was unbearable. Everything else was broken. It hurt. I couldnt use my right hand. I couldnt use nothing. It was very scary. The whole other side was completely engulfed in flames when we got there. Reporter before rushing to the facility, he said he grabbed as many blankets and coats as he could carry. One woman next to my mother was laying on the ground. We got her up and was wrapping people with blankets. Ottos mother will be staying with him for the time being. He spent the majority of his day trying to make phone calls to find her another place. The red cross worked quickly helping get people out of the cold and inside where they could get warm. Volunteers moved people inside Westchester University getting them cots to lay on. It gave these people a place to lay their heads for the night. Police have made an arrest in the murder of a house sitter in gloucester county. The suspect had been released from jail a day before the killing. Brandon wilson is charged with firstdegree murder. He is accused of beating shenay carter to death. Brandon wilson once lived in the house but didnt know the victim. Burglary was the motive for the killing now, to Sexual Misconduct allegatio allegations against roy moore. Roys wife says her husband will not step down. She spoke out in defense of her husband. She says, he will not fighting for the people of alabama. I have been married to my husband, judge roy moore, for over 32 years. He was a graduate of west point. He served our country in vietnam. He has always been an officer and a gentleman. Roy moore has been dogged by allegations of Sexual Misconduct. Two women say he assaulted them decades ago when they were teenagers. They are looking into whether it is appropriate for state police to investigate shootings by their own troopers. The judge rejected their request. One of the countrys largest universities is suspending all activities at its fraternities because of cases involving hazing and alcohol. Officials at ohio state made that decision last night. The University Says it has been investigating about a third of its fraternities since the beginning of the year. This means they cannot have social events or recruit new members. Nbc 10 told you about a loguele fra fraternity shutting down for two years because of underaged drinking. Two students had to go to the hospital after party at sigma chi. Charges came down against a dozen others at penn state. 19yearold sophomore, Timothy Piazza died after an alcoholfueled event. The new charges came out after the fbi uncovered new Surveillance Video from a basement camera. A coach out of a job at rutgers, the school fired its womens swimming and diving coach amid Emotional Abuse claims. She had been accused of telling swimmers to lose weight, verbally bee rating them and ignoring Mental Health claims. Rutgers made National Headlines in 2013 after video surfaced of its basketball coach, mike rice, abusing players during practices. That led to rices firing and the ousting of several top owe facials. The head of puerto ricos electricity resigned today days after a Small Company approved to rebuild the grid. Schools are seeing a spike in enrollment following the devastation. Every year, we look out to the front country and sign out to a marathon. Reporter runners are among the 30,000 participants that flock to the philadelphia marathon. In 1994, just 1500 people took to the streets. Philadelphia has a lot of historical sites that is really, really nice to see. It is a change of pace. It is new to try. A lot of them are competitive runners but there is another purpose, raising money for the race and for research. Runners are reminded of who benefits when they are greeted by volunteer lou lanza of washington township, a cancer survivors of nonhodgkins lymphoma. If it wasnt for them, i wouldnt be around.
