Officials have been working with the swiss guard on plans to protect the pope since january. Sources say the unprecedented measures will include sniper teams with long rifles on rooftops, massive frozen zones for vehicular and pedestrian traffic, no truck traffic and no parking before and during the events, cameras, radiation detectors, helicopters to look for gunmen and a hunt for drones. The number of confirmed cases is up to 57. Since yesterday. East 149th street has tested positive for the bacteria that causes the disease. It is the third place following Lincoln Hospital and concourse plaza shopping mall. Legionnaires is treatable with antibiotics. Health officials on long island want a Suffolk County park closed because of concerns about the west nile virus. A mosquito sample from beliedenberg county park in smithtown tested positive for the virus prompting Health Officials to ask the Parks Department to suspend activities in the park during 6 p. M. To 8 a. M. Six other mosquito samples and three birds tested positive for the virus in Suffolk County. However, no people have tested positive for it in suffolk this year.
