Weakley Co. students get real-world experience through Summer Scholars program KAREN CAMPBELL View Comments School districts across the state were given the task of figuring out how to make up for learning loss because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Weakley County Schools celebrated this week the end of their installation of that program. They called it Summer Scholars, and while it accomplished the goal of helping students make up some of what they may have lost due to obstacles to learning since schools were initially shut down from in-person learning in March of 2020, students also were able to have hands-on learning experience to learn lessons and skills that’ll help them when they’re an adult.
