Meteorologist Tony Pann explains how high temperatures will be in the upper 90s Tuesday in Maryland and by nightfall, it's going to be muggy.
Excessive heat and humidity are in the forecast for much of the week in Maryland, so Baltimore-area cooling centers are opening to provide relief from the heat.
Meteorologist Ava Marie explained that the heat index will make it feel hotter than 100 degrees with actual temperatures in the 90s this week.
Officials remind everyone to drink more fluids, regardless of your activity level, and don't wait until you are thirsty to drink. Also, don't forget to give your pets extra water.
