According to the Meteorological Department, the city has received a surprising 19 cm of rainfall from June 1 to July 24, 2023, as against the average of 17 cm, representing a 12% excess monsoon rainfall. This comes after the city witnessed its driest June in six years, with only 7.2 cm of rainfall instead of the expected 11 cm. However, prior to June, Bengaluru witnessed its wettest May since 1957, indicating significant fluctuations in weather patterns throughout the year.
