Share Week Begins With Severe Storms, Tornado Storms rolled through the county Monday night, May 3, leading to a confirmed tornado and a house fire that was suspected to have started due to lightning. At just after 7 p.m., Hill County storm spotters were activated with radar-detected rotation in a thunderstorm near Blum. Spotters confirmed two funnel clouds in the area. Heavy rain and hail accompanied the storms, with round one affecting mainly northern Hill County into Johnson County. A tornado warning was issued, and damage was reported in several areas along HCR 1106 into Rio Vista and was still being assessed as of The Reporter Newspaper's press time Tuesday morning.
