Tommie Terail Jones, 32, and Jessica Shari Long, 31, were initially charged with capital murder in the shooting death of 31-year-old Daniel Perez on June 1, 2018. The slaying, authorities said, happened during a robbery. Long entered her guilty plea to murder on May 5 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Jones pleaded guilty to murder in February 2020 and received two life sentences. Authorities said Jones fired the fatal shot.
