An Aliceville man and woman who planned a robbery that turned fatal have been sentenced to lengthy prison sentences.
Tommie Terail Jones, 32, and Jessica Shari Long, 31, were initially charged with capital murder in the shooting death of 31-year-old Daniel Perez on June 1, 2018. The slaying, authorities said, happened during a robbery.
Long entered her guilty plea to murder on May 5 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Jones pleaded guilty to murder in February 2020 and received two life sentences. Authorities said Jones fired the fatal shot. ....

A 25-year-old west Alabama man who shot and killed another man two years ago has been sentenced to prison.
Zocimo Hernandez, also known as Zosmino Hernandez, pleaded guilty in the 2019 slaying of Hernan Diaz Diego. The victim was killed, and his body left in the middle of Pickens County Road 2.
Hernandez enter the plea and was sentenced by Pickens County Circuit Judge Samuel Junkin at a hearing in Carrollton earlier this week. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. ....

PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - A West Alabama man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting and killing a man.
Herman Diaz Diego of Mexico City, Mexico was shot and killed in April of 2019. His body was left in the middle of a Pickens County Road.
Authorities say Zocimo Hernandez and Diego knew each other and got into an argument.
“This was purportedly Diego believing that Hernandez had placed a voodoo curse on him,” said 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Andy Hamlin. ....
