James Spann | March 1, 2021 @ 5:36 am RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain covers the northern 2/3 of Alabama early this morning as a cold front pushes through the state. Rain will taper off by midday for most places, but a few lingering showers are possible this afternoon. Temperatures will hold in the 50s over North Alabama today, with 60s and 70s over the southern half of the state ahead of the front. A strong upper air wave will bring a cold rain to the state late tonight and tomorrow. Temperatures will have a hard time getting out of the 40s tomorrow over the northern half of the state, and additional rain amounts of 1-2 inches are likely over the next 48 hours. No severe weather worries with no surface based instability.
