The council-led scheme, in Durants Park, Enfield Highway, will protect properties in surrounding roads in an area deemed to be at high risk of flooding. Councillors gave the go-ahead to the project during a meeting of the planning committee on Tuesday. It will involve creating three wetland cells covering an area of 1,300sq m in the south-eastern corner of the park to absorb surface water run-off.
