When winter weather arrives, more than 50 snow plow trucks shift into action across the city of Springfield.

They hit the road in a coordinated effort, focusing first on the busiest roadways and then working back from there. 
There are two main entities that plow the roads in Springfield — the Missouri Department of Transportation handles the highways and major thoroughfares, and the city of Springfield's Public Works Department handles the rest.
