Whisky cask brokerage disruptor - VCL Vintners - reports over £4 million trade in Q1; updates market on holdings of rare Macallan casks
VCL Vintners, London's premier brokerage for investment grade Scotch whisky casks reports another extremely strong quarter, with deals totalling nearly 4.5 million in Q1 2021. At the start of the year, the brokerage announced sales were up 300% year on year between January 2020 and January 2021, and that n ew account openings had increased by 720%.
The top ten casks sold this quarter, ranging in value from £30,000 up to £60,000, included vintages from Dalmore, Craigellachie, Bruichladdich, Glenrothes, and Highland Park. The most notable sales of the quarter were three Macallan casks, worth over £1 million, £250,000 and £280,000 each.
