Why do we only see black people on TV when they’re speaking about racism?
"When news producers only reach out to ask if I'd come on air and talk about race it's tiring, especially because there is no aftercare for the online trolling," says Chanté Joseph
WHEN I was growing up there were a few black faces I saw on TV. People such as Reggie Yates, Lenny Henry and Angelica Bell made weekly appearances on my television screen. Fast forward to today there are some new black faces such as Maya Jama, Ore Oduba and Clara Amfo but that’s still not enough. Truthfully, I’ve always wanted to be a television presenter but I think seeing the lack of black faces on my TV screen stopped me pursuing it properly.
