By Advertiser Reporter Wiltshire Police HQ in Devizes and, inset, Ch Insp Keith Ewart Pictures: ADVER A CHIEF inspector listened in to a 999 call in which a call handler told members of the public not to move a dying man after he’d just been struck by a car, a misconduct panel heard. Ch Insp Keith Ewart, who faces allegations of misconduct and gross misconduct, is accused of not intervening to correct first aid advice given by call handler Chloe Beattie to those at the scene of the crash that claimed 22-year-old Aidan Ridley’s life. The senior officer, who was force incident manager on shift when the 999 call came through, is also accused of failing to disclose to the then Independent Police Complaints Commission that he had monitored the emergency call.
