The firm began working on the search Dec. 2, the board said in a news release. Former Windsor Superintendent Craig Cooke, who had held the job since April 2014, left Dec. 4 to become Madisonâs superintendent of schools. The school board hired JE Consulting at a cost of $10,500, according to Chairman Leonard Lockhart, who also serves as president of the Superintendent Search Committee. Lockhart said the decision to hire the firm was made during private meetings because it is a human resources matter. He said the school system requested qualifications for search firms via its website. âWe had seven firms that submitted their packets, and, after reviewing them, we interviewed the final round of three â we invited three for an interview â and thatâs how we came to the selection of picking the final firm.â
