View Comments OCONTO – Looking at the horseshoe-shaped stand of trees behind Fairhaven Baptist Church, the Rev. Richard King tried to fathom just how 13 trees were snapped off around the perimeter. “I don’t want to say it was a tornado,” King said Wednesday. “It looks something like a blender got into the backyard, dipped in and dipped out.” “It had to be tremendous power,” gesturing toward a 3-foot-diameter tree broken off roughly 12 to 13 feet above the ground. A storm hit late Monday night and early Tuesday, downing trees in scores of locations throughout Oconto County. The county Sheriff’s Office received 35 reports of power lines downs from 12:15 a.m. Tuesday through that evening.
