Ashley Shade addresses the crowd during a gathering Monday that commemorates the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising, and honors and affirms the rights and gender identities, expressions and sexualities of all people in the community. The event, convened by Berkshire Pride and the North Adams community, sought to acknowledge that LGBTQ+ people in North Adams and everywhere continue to face discrimination and intolerance, fear and violence, and economic hardship.
