Woman dies after crashing into tree in West Valley City, police say

WEST VALLEY CITY — A woman died after she went off the road and hit a tree in West Valley City on Friday morning, police said.
The crash happened about 4:17 a.m. on 3500 South near 5400 West, West Valley Police Sgt. John Pittman said.
The woman, who is between 30 and 40 years old, was driving west on 3500 South when she went off the road and hit a large tree, Pittman said. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the car, according to police. She likely died instantly or very quickly after the impact, Pittman added.
FATAL ACCIDENT: at about 4:15am officers were dispatched to 3500 S 5410 W where a black SUV traveling WB had left the roadway & crashed into a tree.
