Today some people were a wakened by a gun battle that left their neighborhood riddled with bullets. A number of homes and cars were struck at 2 30 this morning. This was the 300 block of east rock lands street in feltonville. Police say damp indicates there was a shootout because bullets were coming from all directions. Some of them spilled into one house where man was asleep with his family. Like poppop. So, i sent my girlfriend to just stay down and then we heard like about another six or seven shots pop pop pop pop. Police have assigned a special unit to investigate this case. Six people have been charged in a theft ring that netted more than 800,000 worth of jewelry. These are the people charged in operation pandora. Their alleged crime spree began in robbinsville in Mercer County in 2013. Police say they robbed tindal diamonds. Prosecutors say they went on to commit 19 other crimes across new jersey, pennsylvania, illinois virginia and rhode island. Four of the suspects are now in custody. Police are still looking for Angie Rodriguez and juan ramirez both from new york city. Authorities have that issued a safety reminder after a string of recent drownings along the delaware river. The new Jersey State Police marine unit wants boaters tubers swimmers and kayakers to wear their life jackets. They say in many cases people who are good swimmers develop a false sense of security and dont bother with a life vest. Day four and countering of heat wave number three for our summer season. It started out on tuesday with a high of 93. We held at 93 midweek. Yesterdays high 91 and today in the city maxing out at 90 degrees. Less humid however. When you look at the dewpoints this is the big difference today in comparison to yesterday. Any time you have dewpoint numbers at 60 degrees or below, weve got a pretty comfortable air mass overhead especially with those westerly winds. So its 54 degrees as far as that dewpoint is concerned here in the city. And you can definitely feel the difference overhead. Currently outside its 89 in the city. 80 in the poconos. 86 in reading. 85 in allentown the lehigh valley. Along the coast not bad. 82 in beach haven. 84 in wildwood. When you look at the water vapor imagery, this is what we have overhead and this is an indication of moisture in the atmosphere and you can see the yellows or the gold tint here from new england back across the midatlantic and the ohio valley. Weve got dry conditions overhead. Compare that to the green with the showers and storms and the humidity firing up just to our south and east. The humidity stays in check and for the most part, to our south and east for a if chunk of our weekend.
