Weve just concluded a very positive meeting and i want to begin today by extending my thoughts and prayers for those affected by Hurricane Harvey and the catastrophe of flooding and all of the other difficulties that theyre currently going through in houston, in Southeast Texas and now its looking more and more like the state of louisiana will be also affected. My administration is coordinating closely with state and local authorities in texas and louisiana to save lives so we thank our First Responders and all of those involved in their efforts. Were working directly with texas Governor Greg Abbott who by the way is doing a fantastic job and his entire staff likewise as well as with governor John Bell Edwards who is very much involved in starting the process of louisiana. Weve pledged our full support as texas and louisiana battle and recover from this very devastating and historic storm. Theres probably never been anything like this. Under the supervision of fema, administrator brock long, there had been a tremendous amount of work done. He has he has been so outstanding in so many ways. More than 8,500 federal workers are involved in the texas effort alone. Ive also today declared emergencies in louisiana at the request of governor edwards. Recovery will be a long and difficult road and the federal government stands ready, willing and able to support that effort. Right now the single most important thing is the safety and security of those still in harms way including the First Responders who have been so terrific and brave protecting the lives of our people is my highest priority. Every asset at my command is at the disposal of local officials. Tragic times such as these bring out the best in americas character, strength, charity and resilience are those characters. We see neighbor helping neighbor, friend helping friend and stranger helping stranger. You see that all over. You watch on television, you just see such incredible work and love and teamwork. We are one american family. We hurt together. We struggle together. And believe me, we endure together. We are one family. To the people of texas and louisiana, we are 100 percent with you. Were praying for you. Were working closely with your leaders and officials and i will be visiting the impact zone tomorrow to ensure that youre receiving full support and cooperation from the federal government and on saturday, we think were going back to texas and also we will be going to louisiana. Nothing can defeat the unbreakable spirit of people of texas and louisiana. Right now every american heart sends its love and support to those whose lives have been upended, totally upended totally by this very horrible storm. We ask god for his wisdom and strength. We will get through this. We will come out stronger and believe me, we will be bigger, better, stronger than ever before. The rebuilding will begin and in the end it will be something very special on just want to thank everybody in the affected area because it has been absolutely incredible to watch the spirit, the cooperation and the love. I would also like to share a message to the people of finland who have that recently suffered a terrorist attack. We stand in solidarity with you against the terrorist threat. We must all Work Together to deny terrorists safe havens cut off their finances and defeat. Mr. Trump speaking offering his words of encouragement and comfort to those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey along the gulf coast particularly in texas as we take a look at the images of course that are there, the president saying that hes been moved by seeing the love and teamwork that people are putting together to get through this devastation saying that he is 100 percent with you, his message to those who are listening across the nation offering his support this afternoon. 8600 federal workers on the ground in texas this afternoon. At least one cohassett told paying rolondo1500 bucks. In my opinion, extortion. This gentleman says that he would call off his attorneys if the range owner would pay him a certain amount of money. Well, the owner of the gun range is firing back so to say saying he will not settle. He plans on fighting rolondo in court. No word if hes baiting. Heres your live look on the westbound side and eastbound right by 202. If youre trying to make your way to the pennsylvania turnpike or 202 it is sluggish out there and it looks like the eastbound side a bit heavier right now. Looks like 10 minutes right now so got to give yourself time if thats where youre traveling but the schuylkill all in all not too terrible this afternoon. On the roosevelt boulevard our typical jam. Jammed from 76 to broad street. Doesnt loop that. Look like that that southbound side is sluggish at all. Ail lanes blocked because of this gas main break be extremely careful if your traveling in that area. Another accident blocking all lanes as well in east exton on east lincoln highway which is business route 30 between springdale and ship road so a little more time needed there. It felt a little bit like fall. It did. You know what it was down there, it was that wind coming out of the northeast. It was beautiful if you were inland. When you hit that sand you got to exfoliation with the wind coming in off the water. Been there. That wind going to get us into trouble tomorrow down there with rip currents and some pretty big swells. As we take a look at the Weather Center here, it is beautiful above. There is a little bit of cloud cover trying to sneak in here this afternoon. High clouds at first and now you can see on the Commodore Barry bridge and just above it there some of those cumulus clouds popping up on sky6 live in chester and the clouds will that continue to thicken up overnight tonight ahead of a system developing down to our south. So, the rain is going to develop from south to north during the day tomorrow but it may put on the brakes in and around the philadelphia area so closer towards the lehigh valley, you may be spared tomorrow from rain but at the shore winds gusting to 45 miles an hour during the day tomorrow. If you thought saturday was windy or yesterday or today, tomorrow were going to crank it up even higher and then mid 80s are back by thursday. Weve had all these days with temperatures only in the 70s and thats where we are right now. 74 up in the lehigh valley. 73 trenton. 76 philadelphia. And the Atlantic City airport right now coming in at 74 degrees. But as we look at these changes on satellite and radar, there are the high clouds that streamed in first thing this morning. Again, able to filter the sunshine through but as you look to the south youre starting to see a little edge of rain sneaking up along the coastline and that is over Cape Hatteras right now, the outer banks of North Carolina. You see the rain trying to intensify here. If you look at the streamline, the winds here you see a little spin near Charleston South Carolina its right on the waters edge. That is low pressure that is going to skirt just to the south of North Carolina and then out to sea but as it does, it has a 70 percent chance now of becoming Tropical Storm irma. So overnight tonight mostly cloudy, some late showers in far southern areas but most of the night is dry and comfy, 57 to 64 degrees. Future tracker showing tomorrow morning it is wall to wall clouds here and there are some of the showers to the south. The problem with Northern Areas is we have High Pressure to the north and thats dry air filtering in with that northeast wind so it will try to rip a lot of rain apart but philadelphia especially down to the shore there will be periods of rain tomorrow afternoon, some could be briefly heavy at times but by tomorrow night, were starting to see that drier air take over as the storm moves out to sea and really this is the setup. High pressures over new england. Again, that high is a lot of dry air that will be coming in out of the northeast. That is going to save us from what could be irma from coming up the coastline but what its going to do is bring strong winds between what could be irma and that high along our shore points, winds gusting to 40, 45, rain down there about a quarter to a half inch tomorrow especially in those far southern areas and waves six to 10 feet with really dangerous rip currents so tomorrow not a day youre going to want to park yourself on the sand. Wait until wednesday. As we look at the exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, 70 breezy tomorrow with afternoon rain especially philly down to the south. Clouds early wednesday morning giving way to returning sun of 80 degrees. Thursday is warm, its a bit humid ahead of a cold front that could spark a storm later in the day of 85 degrees but that will usher in cooler air, 74 with sun on friday and right now Labor Day Weekend i cannot promise its going to be dry all weekend but i can promise its not going to be wet all weekend. There will be a period of some steady rain. The question is is it saturday or sunday. Well fine tune that as we go through the week. Thanks adam.
