You get that wind tunnel effect when youre in the city as that that wind funnels through the buildings and the streets and adds to the chill in the air and makes it feel like the Holiday Season since, you know, thanksgiving is less than two weeks away a the winds are still out of the northnorthwesterly direction. Speeds sustained 12 miles an hour in trenton, 17 philadelphia, the same for beach haven. 22 miles an hour in wilmington and in lancaster 21 miles an hour. So, when you factor in those winds and you calculate it with that air temperature, the wind chill, this is how it feels when you step out, 20 in allentown, 27 trenton, philadelphia, 26 in wilmington, 30 in millville so basically every location with the exception of cape may it is feeling below freezing this afternoon and those numbers will continue to tumble a little bit as we get into the overnight hours. Satellite and radar, we did have some cloud cover early on in the day but again, that basically eroded here this afternoon. We have a lot of sunshine at least we did now that sun kind of being a little more faint with that sunset within the next half hour but even with that sun this afternoon, it did very little to warm us. In fact overnight tonight with that clear sky and those winds coming down, it will be bitter cold with some records. Any city you see with the asterisk that means there could be a record overnight tonight. 16 allentown, 17 reading, 20 trenton, 21 in millville, 22 in dover, even the Atlantic City airport dropping down to a record 19 degrees. For the city not a record but were going for 23 degrees. So, we kind of looked back to see what is our typical first period in the year that we hit that 23degree temperature. The 30 year average is not until december 11th, so this is about a month ahead of schedule to be this cold. Last year it happened on december 15th. 2015 we didnt hit 23 until after the new year, so this is very early in the year. Something in the sky tonight you may want to check out. If you like astronomy nasa along the virginia coast there will be sending up a rocket into the air at 7 37. If youre in cape may, southern delaware, it will happen a minute after, youll be able to see it in the southsoutheastern sky. For the rest of us check it out at 7 39, 7 40 and it will quickly launch to the southsoutheast and it will be gone within 30 seconds or so. Future tracker wind chills tomorrow morning still in the teens so a very chilly start to the weekend but as we get into the afternoon tomorrow, 40 degrees for a high, less wind which means it wont be as bitter with sun and clouds. Same thing on sunday but bumping it up to 49 degrees but a little heavier on the cloud side at times. Monday morning a quick system passes with shower, some sun in the afternoon, 53 and pretty nice here on tuesday at 53 degrees under partly sunny skies. Sharrie will have the rest of that sevenday forecast for you in the next half hour. See you then. Adam thanks. One of the most expensive things at the wedding can be the professional pictures.
