COUNCIL officers intend to apply for planning permission for a new school building in Wrexham. The permission would be for on the Nine-Acre Field, as early as April and with a planned opening by September 2023. The information has been shared by Councillor Marc Jones, whose Grosvenor ward overlooks the Nine-Acre Field, after raising questions on behalf of residents. He said: "From the information we have been given, there is an established need to expand St Mary's primary school as it's consistently oversubscribed. It's also landlocked and has no room for expansion on its current site. The question therefore is where it should move to ensure it's convenient for the current and future pupil population it attracts.
