The division is seeking $5 million in savings, owing to a decline in provincial operating funding and the government’s directive to freeze education property taxes. The board of trustees has recommended those funds be found through utility savings, eliminating summer clerical positions, and limiting non-salary school expenses (such as furniture and supplies).
