Following breaking news from gaithersburg maryland where police are searching for three armed men. Were told the suspect stole weapons before they left or they fled. Fox5s mel i wa Melanie Alnwicks us live with the latest. Reporter good morning steve and allison. Still no information from police in terms of was this person targeted or was this completely random. But it was definitely a very scary situation here at the gaithersburg station apartments overnight last night. It happened about 11 30 and the Victim Told Police that he work, there was a knock on his door t he looked outside and he saw a man who looked like he was in distress so the victim opened the door and then three men burst inside. They all had handguns and they demanded property. The victim said take what you want. They took off with the victims wallet, a laptop, cell phone and two guns, a long gun and a handgun. Now, we dont know exactly what type of what model of weapons those are at this point but were working to confirm that because there were earlier reports it could have been an ar15. Now, no injuries in this. That is the good news. However, still some very dangerous guys out on the street right now. Lets show you their descriptions according to Montgomery County police, one is a black male 6 feet 2inches tall with dark skin. A short haircut and what they describe as a day old beard. The second suspect is a hispanic male and they called it a chinstrap beard so i guess thats something thin somn underneath his chin. The third suspect we dont have any physical description of other wearing dark clothing. Now, here is the vehicle that you want to be on the lookout for. It is a 2004 to 2006 police style White Ford Crown vic with tinted windows and a spotlight. Sort of like what yu would see on a Police Vehicle or a taxicab, that sort of chrome light on the side of the car. One more thing. Very distin distinctive. Take a look at the license plate. The words maryland proud ignore those because thats just the example that is on the mva web site. Its got that maryland flag along the bottom, thats the important thing you need to look for so if you see that car with the maryland flag, please call Montgomery County police or the city of gaithersburg police. Also developing this morning in firefighters worked to put out flames. This is at a hotel in jessup. Crews responded to the red roof inn on washington boulevard just after midnight. That fire was under control in about 10 minutes. Were also told there were no injuries. That investigation is ongoing. Investigators will resume their search today for the remains of a d. C. Woman who went missing back in 2009. Earlier this year pamela butlers boyfriend Jose Rodriguez cruz admitted to killing her. As part of a plea deal he agreed to tell detectives where he buried butler and this morning at 10 00 a. M. A small portion of the 95 express lanes in Stafford County will be closed while Police Search for butlers remains so you wont be able to access the express lanes at garrisonville road for several hours. Reporter yeah, you can see it, guys, were on the inner loop near Tysons Corner and i dont know if if our go pro camera will allow you at home to see it, but there are white lines where you can see the roadway has been treated with this brine and liquid magnesum chloride. They actually hit this part of the beltway last night vdot did. Theyre working kind of around the rush hours getting ahead of this Winter Weather advisory which takes effect at midnight tonight until 4 oclock tomorrow in the district. And basically vdot is saying you can expect some snow, slippery Road Conditions and so theyre getting ahead of it. Here on the major roadways like the beltway but also some of the secondary roads. And clearly as we always say, the ramps and bridges those surfaces that tend to freeze first are also being treated. Vdot says, you know, around the different rush hours, if you see their trucks give them a little bit of room. Theyre going to be working, you know, throughout the rest two things of advice for you guys. If you have to be out tomorrow and theres going to be snow on the road, gas up and go slow. The two pieces of advice. And right now, you do see the road surfaces are treated. Conditions are absolutely fine now. This afternoons rush hour could be a little different, though, guys. The big question two Big Questions obviously everybody wants to know how much snow were going to get. Thats question number one. Question number two has it been mild enough that if it does snow the roads should be okay . Certainly the major roadways. I dont think well have big problems on the beltway or 95. But. Ground is not frozen solid at this point. Right. As we get into the secondary roads i think thats where well have more challenges. If the snow can be heavy enough it can sort of overcome the fact that it doesnt have temperatures cold enough at the surface to have it stick but that takes some time. This is not going to be a major event but it will many cases well have our first inch of snow of the year. All right. That would be nice. Yeah, and the timing couldnt be better i mean as far as the weekend. A practice storm, this is a good one. Right. But do recall we only got about 3inches of snow last year. In toto. In total. Real. And parts of the area could do 3inches of snow by tomorrow afternoon. Okay. Im enthused every time we say this. I know. Yeah. Bob mentioned the Winter Weather advisory. There you go. That issued about an hour ago. Includes d. C. Baltimore all the counties in and along 95 and Southern Maryland and i think Southern Maryland south. East as you get a little closer to the ocean there will be a sweet spot there where youll likely see the most snow. Well talk accumulations in a couple minutes. Right now unfortunately we have a crash. New hampshire avenue and ednor road caution there blocking the right shoulder. Thats not the only problem. 29 colesville road southbound at timber wood avenue a crash blocking the right lane. Looks to be cleared now but we have that residual slow down past New Hampshire avenue toward the beltway. Give yourself about 15 extra minutes. Outer loop top side of the beltway jams up with about a 30 minute delay. 27 minute total right now 95 to the 270 spur. Earlier crash after georgia of a cleared. As we look at the outer loop youre looking great coming up toward 50 from that point to bw parkway. Inner loop jams through oxon hill. 270 has been really pleasant this morning. I dont want to jinx us. 70 to 12116 minute trip and then as you can see through gaithersburg into rockville seeing a lot of green. 270 much quieter so if youre heading down to the beltway, youre in pretty good shape there. Now keep in mind we have those typical delays on 295. Kenilworth avenue from the Maryland Line down to the 11th street bridge, its a 13 minute trip. 11 Miles Per Hour average. Now six major fires burning the newest in san diego county. Its ripped through a Retirement Community burned two people and killed horses at a racing facility. This morning in Los Angeles County fire crews are reporting some progress. Some evacuees were even allowed to return home last night. Harassment claims led to another resignation in congress. Republican representative trent franks. This came hours after al franken was forced to give up his seat. Our holly morris joins us now live from the news room with the latest. Holly. Reporter list just keeps going right. Arizona congressman trent franks says hes resigning. Arizonas trent franks has been in congress for almost 15 years. A career that came to a crashing end yesterday when he announced he was resigning effective early next year. Hes been accused he says of discussing pregnancy and surrogacy issue with his staff conversations that led to a complaint. In a statement franks said he became insensitive as to how the discussion of intensely personal topic might affect others. Its not clear what, if any, other factors came into play, but House Speaker paul ryan wasted little time asking franks to step down on a day when another resignation was dominating the headlines. I will be resigning as a member of the United States senate. Reporter minnesota senator al franken announced he was leaving after at least eight women came forward complaining of inappropriate behavior. He used the floor to deny the allegations and took a shot at the president. There is some irony in the fact that i am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of Sexual Assault sits in the oval office. Reporter the House Ethics Committee meanwhile is ramping up its investigation into texas republican congressman Blake Farenthold who faces harassment allegations. One of which appear to have led to an 84,000 payout. He all be resolved. And next week we will find out whether Alabama Republican Roy Moore will be joining the senate. If he wins a special election on tuesday, gop Senate Leaders will have to decide how to deal with the numerous allegations that moore now faces. Working against the snow temperatures have been a little marginal. I think at particularly it may not stick to roadways and that kind of thing as, you know, temperatures around here really have not been terribly cold for the last couple weeks. Snow right now reaching down into parts of louisiana, mississippi, alabama, you can see it down there, winter storm warnings for that part of the world. Were under a Winter Weather advisory which goes into effect after midnight. Youll have no issues whatsoever today. This will mostly move in after midnight early tomorrow morning. I think most of the region wakes up with snow tomorrow morning or a wintry mix if youre off to the south and east and will be with us for the first half of our saturday. Things should taper off in the afternoon. How much snow . Reporter hey, allison and steve, we just got here not too long ago to a serious situation that Stafford CountySheriffs Office along with the s. W. A. T. Team are working. Just so you know, we are about a hundred yards away from this. We are standing have positioned us so that we are safe and im standing in front of our suv here but this is an ongoing situation. Theres a woman inside this silver car where they have a huge spotlight on, shes sitting in the drivers seat and she is threatening to take her own life. She is armed with a gun.
