Congress passed a stop gap measure last night to keep the government running until january 19th. The federal government was set to run out of money by midnight tonight but the bill keeps the government funded at current levels and pays for the chip program which provides almost 9 million low income children with medical care. It also adds in extra money for the pentagon and veterans and contains a short term reauthorization of domestic spying programs. Also today President Donald Trump expected to sign the republican tax overhaul bill into law. The measure is the most extensive rewrite of the tax code in more than 30 years. Once signed into law the Corporate Tax rate will drop to 21 percent. Small businesses are also due to see a big reduction deductions for individuals and couples as well as child tax credits are said to double. He was last seen leaving his home on forest dale drive in woodbridge last night around 7 oclock. A followup to that fire that broke out last night in montgomery county. Fire crews battled a house fire in germantown on brink road around 9 p. M. Last night. Crews had to bring in several water tankers because there arent any hydrants in area. Firefighters say no one was at home when that fire started. We dont have a word yet on a cause. More arrests made in connection with the possible gang related murder of a Prince William county teen. Police arrested 19yearold thomas paine yo mejia and navarro. Investigators believe they are disappearance and death. His body was found in a field in nokesville back in august. We want to talk about a disturbing story out of prince georges county. A violent fight at Suitland High School caught on camera. Police now investigating following reports that someone pulled a weapon during that fight. Fox5s Anjali Hemphill is live at the school with more. Good morning. Reporter well, good morning, ladies. Yeah, this violent brawl lasted about a minute before it was broken up by School Security guards and now at least one student here at Suitland High School may be facing charges after investigators say a weapon was used and we do want to show you this video but we want to warn you that the images may be disturbing. Dramatic fight there. You can hear students take place in the brawl. It took place after dismissal. The images tough to watch at times because, again, these are teenagers involved. District officials believe the students planned this fight and they hid themselves between the parked school buses after school so they were not immediately spotted by the security guards. Cori coffin was out here lst night showing this video to several parents and they say this is the first time they heard of the incident. This year i havent heard about much. I hear sometimes, you know, from time to time different incidents but this year this is the first that i heard of. Its scary.
